|Welcome to the School Nurses' Webpage|
We are a team of nurses, employed by Madison County Schools, to help ensure your child is able to perform his/her best at school. We believe that healthy children are children ready to learn. We work as healthcare managers within the school setting for students. We strive to ensure that teachers teaching students with special healthcare needs are prepared and educated in the students’ healthcare needs. We work with the total student population, but our primary focus is on students with chronic/on-going health problems; such as students with asthma, anaphylaxis, seizure, diabetes, etc.
You will find several labeled folders below containing forms that you may need to complete regarding your child’s health. Most forms require that parents and the child’s doctor sign them. The most frequent folder accessed by parents is the folder labeled Medication Forms/Info. If your child ever needs medication at school, this is where you can find the appropriate forms and policy. Please note that in order for school to give medication to your child(ren) we must have a doctor’s order and signed consent from the parent/legal guardian.
